We are smack dab in the middle of a series introducing the categories here on singlenesting. The inspiration for the series came from a couple sources. The first is that we have completely revamped my website, which is super exciting. The second is that I wanted to add a couple of more categories.

This is the first of those two new categories!

In this category, I will be sharing what I’ve learned to live a simpler, cleaner lifestyle at home.

It’s become increasingly clear to me in recent years just how critical it is to lower our toxin load, decrease the chemicals we’re exposed to and strive to live a slower lifestyle. Which is not any easy feat here in wound-up New England, where you’re always in a rush even if you have plenty of time.

As I dive deeper into what that means for me and my household, I’ll be sharing the lessons I’m learning, too.

You can expect to read about gardening adventures and misadventures as we rejuvenate an abandoned garden. You can expect to read about essential oils and how you can swap out those chemical-laden products with more natural options.

I’ve been on a journey of considering slowing down the pace of life, returning to our roots, relearning and cultivating methods and mindsets our grandmothers (or great-grandmothers) used while practicing resourcefulness and lowering waste. Reusing and repairing rather than throwing out and replacing.

I’m sure that this will evolve over time and as I get “stuck” into it, as the Brits like to say. We have some dreams of homesteading, so maybe it’ll turn into that. Let’s find out together!

Thanks for popping by! I’m so glad you came!

Until next time, I’ll keep the cushions fluffed and the kettle ready!

Happy homemaking, friends!
