If you’ve been here for the past three weeks or so, you know that we’re going through an introduction series. So far we’ve gone over Gathering, At the Table and Home Style.

Today I am introducing you to the Brilliant Ideas category!

Woot, woot!

This category is about simple and easy DIY, home projects, hacks, cleaner cleaning and organization. You know, those tips, tricks, ideas that make the light bulb go off over your head and exclaim, what a great idea, why didn’t I think of that!

To be honest with you, this category can have a tendency to be more challenging for me because, while I adore watching renovation shows, I have not tackled much in terms of that sort of thing in real life. While I do consider myself to be creative, it’s not in the “crafts” sense of the connotation. I don’t have the patience for that sort of thing. So the emphasis is most definitely on simple and easy.

I admire my friends and family members who are gifted in doing stuff like that with their hands. I’ve had to learn not to compare myself with them. It’s not a comparison game, friends!

Additionally, I’ve been a renter for my adult life, so there’s a limitation to what I can (or want) to do in a rented space. I painted my little attic apartment on Brooklawn years ago and I loved the atmosphere I created! (I didn’t much care for that one spot over the door of the living room where the paint was splotchy…ah well.)

I’m up for a challenge, though. And since I have moved back to a more permanent home, I have more freedom to tackle all of these projects that I’ve been storing up in my mind storage unit.

One thing I believe I excel at and have always been is an organizer, so you can expect some extensive content about that! Can we nerd out together and get really buzzed about an organized closet? Doesn’t that sound like fun!

We’ve got lots of plans for projects we want to do around the house. The main focus this year will still be decluttering and organizing. There are some smaller projects that’ll get us closer towards bigger projects that can be completed, so stay tuned!

I’m so glad you stopped by! Come again soon! Like, next Friday and next week!

Until next time, I’ll keep the cushions fluffed and the kettle ready!

Happy homemaking, friends!
