When having a party for two, selecting the menu is an important aspect of the gathering. It’s not necessarily imperative but it definitely doesn’t hurt.

My Main Squeeze is a master when it comes to grilling meat. I mean, he thinks ahead and plans out how he’s going to marinate the meat. It’s practically nothing for him to whip up a homemade marinade. It’s so impressive!

So, for these summertime parties for two, grilling up some choice cuts of meat is most definitely a key menu item.

Other key menu items are a veggie and a pasta salad. Perhaps we’ll grill or saute some squash or zucchini, maybe he’ll agree to a big green salad. Or maybe it’ll just be something steamed or roasted.

A summertime meal doesn’t seem complete without some sort of pasta salad. Unless that’s substituted with a potato salad. Store bought from the deli or lovingly homemade, the ingredient that matters most is being together.

For ease, we do like the pasta salads that come in a box. Not the cleanest or healthiest, I know, but they’re easy and economical. If you doctor them up, though, people would never really know the difference.

Meat, veg, starch and drinkies - that’s the whole gang!

We quite like summertime cocktails. We’ve done margaritas and pina coladas. A simple glass of wine or beer is also a fan favorite. Whatever your preference, go for it!

Well, the food and drinks were so delicious that I forgot to take photos. You know you’re having a great time when you forget to document life because you’re so engaged in the living of it!
