I think it’s such a lovely idea to rotate seasonally appropriate books into our home decor. To me, it adds whimsy and a touch of intellectual clutter, which I don’t find to be uncomfortable. It’s also sweet to pick up a beautiful volume and just dip into it as the fancy strikes. Much like a music playlist (or, for us ‘90s kids, our CD collections!), our book collections offer a tiny, intimate peek into our personality and what makes us, well, us!

This year, I’ve been trying out using vintage volumes as decor in the Evening Salon. This room in our home has historically not housed books. And any room without any type of book collection feels soulless, don’t you think?

To remedy that void, I opted for vintage books with bindings that were in colors that felt right to the current season. I ended up loving the look and feel they gave to the overall feeling of the room. I’ve also been intentional about the coffee table dipping books I’ve placed each season. I just really like rotating decor in and out each season.

Now, I admit, I am limited in my collection of Christmas themed books. So I thought what I’d do is provide a list of titles that I would want to add to my collection over time. These volumes are either full of beautiful pictures or illustrations or are just really pretty and decorative in themselves. I’ve also included some titles for the littles in your life for those aunties who love their lil’ niblings - whether by siblings or friends. Enjoy!
